COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers.
They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this qualification can vary between states, territories and industry sectors.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Achieve a minimum of 80% in Accredited Education & Training Australia’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test.

AQF Level 4 and above qualification

Applicants must also be aged 18 years or above.

There are no pre-requisites for this qualification

Pathways into the Qualification
Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points including

after achieving the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building); or

after achieving the RII40820 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design; or

after achieving the RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design; or

after achieving the CPC50210 Diploma of Building & Construction (Building) or

after achieving the CPC50308 Diploma of Building & Construction (Management) or

with vocational experience in a range of work environments in building and construction support roles but without a qualification

Pathways from the Qualification

Further training pathways from this qualification may lead the learner to consider pathway options including Advanced Diploma Qualifications or Higher Education courses in Civil Engineering.

COURSE DELIVERY

Classroom based training sessions to develop the knowledge and theoretical understandings.

ASSESSMENT

The assessment process includes the gathering of evidence to demonstrate the student’s competence. Students are assessed using written questions, observation/practical demonstrations, projects

RPL / COURSE CREDIT

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Course Credit is offered to students through the enrolment process.

COMPLETION

At the successful completion of the course students will be awarded with the “Testamur” and a “Record of Results” which provides detailed Units of Competency completed in the course.
At the Partial Completion of the course students will be awarded with a “Statement of Attainment” which will detail only the Units of Competency that student has achieved competency from the course.
