COURSE DESCRIPTION

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as two specialist fields of work.
The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age or above.

Completed year 11 (or equivalent)

Minimum 5.5 IELTS score or equivalent; and

Successful completion of the appropriate internal Learning Assessment

This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. Credit will be granted towards this qualification by those who have completed CPC20112 Certificate II in Construction or other relevant qualifications.

COURSE DELIVERY

Classroom based training sessions to develop the knowledge and theoretical understandings. Practical demonstrations in the simulated environment (onsite workshop)

ASSESSMENT

The assessment process includes the gathering of evidence to demonstrate the student’s competence. Students are assessed using written questions observation with oral questioning.

RPL / COURSE CREDIT

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Course Credit is offered to students through the enrolment process.

COMPLETION

At the successful completion of the course students will be awarded with the “Testamur” and a “Record of Results” which provides detailed Units of Competency completed in the course. At the Partial Completion of the course students will be awarded with a “Statement of Attainment” which will detail only the Units of Competency that student has achieved competency from the course.
